M1: Justify content, distribution and marketing methods identified for the planned production to meet a client brief

In the client brief it is stated that the BBC 3 and BBC have asked for us to produce a teaser scene for episode one and the title sequence made up of visual and special effects and that it is intended that the opening credits will aid in the marketing and advertising of the programme.

After me and my partner read the brief, we realised that due to the fact that our client is BBC3 they are an online platform, therefore once we make the products they have asked for they will be streaming in online services which is likely to be BBC iPlayer and unless of course they would want to also stream it on the BBC1/2 channels. The reason that we decided that our product will be used to stream on online services such as the BBC iPlayer is because audiences who have seen the marketing for our product and will not be able to watch it at the specific air time would have the ability to access and stream whenever they have the free time to watch it. In our proposal we included this:

This is what we wrote on the proposal

We decided that due to the client saying that the product we make will aid in the marketing and advertising of the programme. We decided that we would likely stream our products on YouTube as audiences from all across the world would be able to access and watch the products, because of the fact that BBC 3 is mainly streamed in the UK, it will be hard for other people to have access to it. If the product does succeed and become ever so popular, audiences who viewed the products on other streaming services would want to watch it on a site that is accessible to them.

We will also be YouTube for marketing purposes, such as releasing snippets of some scenes or creating a short trailer. We plan to use other tools that we could use alongside our production to assist in the marketing could be interviews with the cast and crew members of the production, some behind the scenes footage that could be released a few weeks before the release of the film 'Approaching Utopia' this will be done in order to get the audience more excited for the release as they would be able to see what goes on during shooting, any information given by cast and crew members and they would get a more understanding and see the special and visual effects being filmed. We also plan to use social media to help us with the marketing and include the behind the scene footage and countdown to the release date to keep the audiences up to date with the release and what goes on during production.
