Unit 3 - M3 [Resubmission]

Omniya Tajni M3: Create production material that follows the codes and conventions of the chosen genre for the media product Our genres as explicitly stated by the client brief are science fiction and drama; we believe it will also have elements of adventure, as our characters will be travelling on a voyage/going on a mission - this combined with the element of survival will increase the action and drama within the scene. We attempted to portray the genre and conventions as much as we can with our own additions, this is related through the costuming of the characters, the lighting of the control room and design of our spaceship, scale model. I believe we were able to meet the codes and conventions of a sci-fi film, through our teaser scene and our title sequence. In the control room scene, we were able to change the lighting and added a blue atmosphere, to give that cold blue interior spaceship atmosphere. I believed this had an effect on the whole productio...

Unit 3 - M2 [Resubmission]

Omniya Tajni M2: Legal and ethical issues are identified and resolved for the planned productions There are many legal and ethical issues that need to be identified and resolved while planning for the production of any audio-visual product. We identified quite a few while planning and needed to consider this before the production of our TV Drama. A day before our shooting, my team made sure that we made consent forms for our actors to sign before we recorded them in front of a camera. This is needed as is considered as an ethical issue/legal issue if it isn’t done, because if we didn’t get the consent from the actors then it would lead to a disruption in to the distribution of our teaser scene for our TV drama, because the actors will have that authority to not allow us to distribute any of the footage they are in, because they didn’t give us their consent what so ever. This is why we made sure we got their consent and explained to them that this will be...

Omniya Tajni M1: Justify content, distribution and marketing methods identified for the planned production to meet a client brief I n the client brief it is stated that the BBC 3 and BBC have asked for us to produce a teaser scene for episode one and the title sequence made up of visual and special effects and that it is intended that the opening credits will aid in the marketing and advertising of the programme. After me and my partner read the brief, we realised that due to the fact that our client is BBC3 they are an online platform, therefore once we make the products they have asked for they will be streaming in online services which is likely to be BBC iPlayer and unless of course they would want to also stream it on the BBC1/2 channels. The reason that we decided that our product will be used to stream on online services such as the BBC iPlayer is because audiences who have seen the marketing for our product and will not be able to watch it at the speci...

Omniya Tajni P4: Create production materials to be used in the original media product Evidence of using equipment Due to working in a pair, in the planning process, my partner and I made sure that we split the shots equally, so that we both filmed the same amount and are able to discuss and speak about our role, rather than relying on one another to do majority of the effort. With me, I filmed the teaser scene shots in the ‘control room’ as I was acting in the conference room shots, and we split the shots for the green screen. Trying to get a shot for evidence in the ‘control room’ was quite hard due to the lights being at a low level, however, I was able to get my partner to take this shot of me recording footage next to the green screen: This an image of me using the camera for the green screen scenes We made sure that when it came to setting up the equipment, it was done in an efficient and safe manner, so that we don't harm anyone, disrupt th...

Omniya Tajni P2: Create sample materials to support the proposal Script This is the script we made of our product: This is the first page of the script Storyboard This is the storyboard we made for our teaser scene: This is the first page of our storyboard for 'Approaching Utopia'  Link to proposal These sample materials help support our proposal as we were able to visual create pre-production documents that helped with our synopsis. During production we will be using these sample materials to follow, ensuring that the characters say the right dialogue and the correct action and the story board will help us visualise the blocking and performance of the characters. In our proposal we stated that in our teaser scene we will have cuts between two different locations; the control room and the conference room, the reason for this is that in the conference room we will have Heather, speaking about the mission that is about to t...

Unit 3 - M4 & Unit 17 - M2 [Resubmission]

Omniya Tajni M4: Demonstrate how the exported media product meets the client brief M2: Export the final footage into the planned or final format This is the final version of the film  The final product was exported into a file format of MP4. The reason for this was because ti will be easy to distribute and the quality will be the best when streamed, if I was to download it as another file format the final product will be burry which will lead the audience to not being able to see the footage properly and due to this product being used for advertisement if audiences was to see this in a low quality they wouldn't want to watch it.  When I finished the final editing and put both the teaser scene and title sequence shots together, I exported it as a H.264 codec as a Video and Audio format. The reason why I did this because the client brief has said that these two audio-visual products will be intended for the opening credits and will aid in the marketing and a...
